Where To Eat At — account and data deletion
1. Open the Where To Eat At app and sign in.
2. Tap the Profile tab in the bottom navigation bar.
3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
4. Confirm twice when prompted.
Your account and data are deleted immediately. This cannot be undone.
If you can't access the app, email hello@wheretoeatat.com from the email address on your account, with the subject "Account deletion request". We verify the request comes from the account owner and complete the deletion within 30 days, usually much sooner.
You don't have to delete your whole account to remove data:
Saved restaurants. Open a restaurant in the app and tap the save button again to remove it from your Favorite Cravings.
Anything else. Email hello@wheretoeatat.com from your account email with the subject "Data deletion request", and tell us what you'd like removed — for example specific posts, photos, or your location history. We verify the request comes from the account owner and complete it within 30 days, usually sooner. Your account stays active.
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:
• Your account and login credentials
• Your profile information (name, email)
• Your posts, photos, and videos
• Your Favorite Cravings
• Your friends and friend requests
• Any meetups you created or were invited to
• Any feedback reports you submitted, including attached screenshots
Restaurant listings you claimed. If you claimed and managed a restaurant, the restaurant listing and its menu remain in our directory — they describe a business, not you. Your ownership of the listing is removed, and it becomes available for the business to claim again.
Anonymized search data. Search queries are kept in an anonymized form with all identifiers removed, so they can no longer be linked to you. This helps us understand which dishes people look for so we can improve results.
Records we are required to keep. We may retain limited records where the law requires it. These are not used for any other purpose.
Deletions made in the app take effect immediately. Deletions requested by email are completed within 30 days of verifying your request. Residual copies may persist in encrypted backups for up to 30 days after deletion, after which they are permanently overwritten.
